Operational Structure

The Organizational Behavior group is specialized in conducting experimental lab research. Our own labs include the OB Behavioral Lab and the OB Psychophysiological Lab. We use Matlab, E-Prime 2 standard, and DmDX software to program our experiments.

OB Behavioral Lab (E18)

The Behavioral Lab has two workstations that can be separated by a movable divider. Each workstation is equipped with a PC, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

OB Psychophysiological Lab (F103/F104)

The psychophysiological lab consists of a participant’s room and a monitoring (experimenter) room that are connected. An intercom system allows for communication between the participant and the experimenter.

Electroencephalography (EEG)
We use a 32-channel actiCHamp EEG system by Brain Products GmbH. Ag/AgCl electrodes are mounted on EASYCaps that come in different sizes. Recordings are conducted on a workstation installed with BrainVision Recorder (Brain Products GmbH). Signals are processed with BrainVision Analyzer (Brain Products GmbH).

We also have a dedicated space for cleaning EEG supplies and showers for participants.

Electrocardiography (ECG)
We use CardioScreen 2000 to record ECG signals. Based on the method of Impedance Cardiography (ICG), the 4 TECT Sensor-Application allows for continuous (beat-to-beat) monitoring and recording of more than 30 parameters (e.g., pre-ejection period; PEP). The system further allows for off-line data analysis and data export (e.g., in Excel).
